AlgGutten is a family business founded by Bo and Katy Bjurvald Gistedt in 1999.
Today it is still run by the founders, as well as the next generation Bjurvald Gistedt and a large lovely family of ambassadors.
The name came about when Bosse was called AlgGutten, by a Norwegian acquaintance, when we ourselves used algae as a dietary supplement.
We want to be a stable, uncomplicated partner, regardless of whether you are a dog owner or a business owner. Our products are of Premium and Superpremium quality.
We strive for locally produced feed with locally produced ingredients of high quality and close contact with our suppliers and customers. Most of our ingredients are Swedish, but we do not market Swedish ingredients, as it could be perceived as false marketing if the product is not 100% Swedish.
The food is manufactured in Västergötland and is currently available at retailers around the country, including dog centers, dog daycare centers, rehab centers, pet stores and online retailers.

Our customers
Our customers are quality-conscious dog owners of all kinds. Many kennels have used our food for several generations of dogs, with fantastic results. High-performance working and agility dogs can testify to increased performance and faster recovery. Many companion dogs have better breath and less tartar without expensive supplements, and there is a lot of research on Ascophyllum Nodosum, which is the active algae in our food.
We are proud of our food and hope that you will want to try it.
AlgGutten's packaging and NPA (Näringslivets Producersansvar)
We work continuously with our packaging and therefore they can change in shape and material. There are many parameters that must be taken into account. Both for content. but also machines, filling, welding and that the packaging should last for transport. But we are constantly looking for new materials that can work. Normally we use paper labels that will facilitate the recycling of the material. The Swedish Industry Producer Responsibility is an approved producer responsibility organization that works to drive the development towards circular and traceable material recycling - so that more packaging can become packaging again.
Much of our candy is packaged in cellophane, which is a monoplastic. Monoplastic is easy to sort for recycling stations and can be recycled endlessly. Sweden's largest plastic recycling facility is located in Motala.

AlgGutten's warehouse and transport
We only use partners with proper environmental work. Those responsible for our transports to our customers in Sweden always work sustainably. They are environmentally certified and trained in economical driving, so-called EcoDriving. We also combine shipping with other companies wherever possible, to make our climate impact as small as possible.
AlgGutten is not just a food. It's a lifestyle.
With a focus on quality and the environment, we want to create a wonderful sense of belonging and added value for the dog owner.
