Seaweed contains all known forms of minerals and trace elements, around twenty different amino acids, abundant amounts of omega-3 fatty acids and all vitamins in their natural balance.
Algae is often used as a supplement for deficiency symptoms in dogs such as poor pigmentation, coat problems, itching and eczema. Many testify to a positive impact on the dog's oral hygiene.
The algae in the feed contributes to:
• improves the immune system
• strengthens bones, tendons, joints, teeth and claws
• increased pigmentation
• shinier coat, reduced shedding
• gives a generally healthier dog!
What makes algae useful? Algae is known as a healthy food, and there are many factors that make it one of nature's most beneficial plants.
Approximately 60% of algae is protein, with all the essential amino acids that we need. Algae also has a high content of chlorophyll, which is what gives plants their green color. Chlorophyll is needed for photosynthesis in plants and can be compared to their blood. Chlorophyll is a nutrient-rich substance with antioxidant effects and is beneficial for the intestinal flora.
Algae are rich in vitamins and minerals, including vitamin B12 and iron, which contribute to reduced tiredness and fatigue. Both are important for blood formation. Algae also contains magnesium, which affects nerve and muscle function, where it contributes to the muscles' ability to relax. There is also plenty of copper, vitamin C and vitamin E, all of which act as antioxidants and protect our cells from being broken down by free radicals.
Algae is rich in healthy fatty acids, mainly omega fatty acids. Omega-6 (linoleic acid) and Omega-3 (alpha-linolenic acid) have a positive effect on the heart and blood vessels and help maintain blood pressure at a healthy level.
